The Brampton Courthouse has a 110,000 square foot, six-storey addition attached to its existing courthouse. Two floors will be outfitted immediately to contain new courtrooms and support spaces such as waiting areas and judicial chambers. The remaining floors will provide space for future courthouse developments.
SWS Detention Group was responsible for providing and installing new Hondo Nuevo Furniture in the waiting areas. The artistic “S” shape was formed through the combination of Hondo Nuevo Bench (HN830) that comes in sawgrass, and Hondo Nuevo Bench Wedge (HN835) that comes in graphite.
Interior elements in the courthouse are becoming more human centered, expressive and comfortable. Officials who work with designers are now leveraging nature, color and softer furnishings in these intensive-use facilities to humanize the environment.
